Damask Lighted China Cabinet

This piece traveled with us across 3 states and landed in my dining room to save room in our garage. At first I listed it available to be customized but after looking at it's big stark whiteness for a few days I had to do something with it.
I applied a black and {off} white damask fabric over the back and lightly glazed the details with black.

Turquoise End Tables

Remember when I mentioned in the Muscly Trunk blog that ALL of the furniture in our house is black. Well, after some convincing with the husband, I've fixed that problem...in our bedroom anyway, it's a start. After giving clients piece after piece of custom furniture I decided that I wanted some for my own home, so instead of waving "bye bye" to these babies, I'm keeping them for myself :)

Vintage Knee Desk- Custom for Kristy

This was my last project of 2011 and my 1st project of 1212 (teehee) that comes in handy with linky parties =)
This is one of the pieces we found the 1st night we went to auction.

The top was covered with a nasty veneer that was peeling up around the edges. I peeled that sucker off and found pretty wood underneath. After some scraping, sanding, wood filling, and more sanding, I was finally ready to start painting (my favorite part!... I hate the prep work).

The new owner seems to be very happy with it and it has turned out to be one of my favorites so far... that is what makes all of my work worth it. I'm one happy girl right now :)

Fabulous Thrift Store Find (Custom for Mallory)

Ok, I have to admit it, I was so very excited about this order. Not only because it's an awesome piece and it's owner is so very sweet (great to meet you Mallory!) but also because it was my first CUSTOM order from someone outside of my family, friends, & husband! Don't get me wrong, I can't express how thankful I am to have the support from all of my loved ones and I don't know what I would do without it BUT... branching out is good for business :)

I sanded, painted with a satin black by Valspar, sanded, & panted again. I then distressed with a medium grit sanding block (LOVE those things!) and applied a protective top coat.

The hardware got 3 coats of Oil Rubbed Bronze (LOVE that too!) and vuah-la!
Do you love it? I love it! and I hope Mallory loves is for years to come!

Custom Cifferobe (Not for Sale)

This was a custom order for the Stephens family :) It belonged to Nina when she was young and she wanted it back to its original condition for their daughter's room.

I'm not going to lie, it was pretty bad. As I sanded through all of Nina's child hood art work, I thought to myself, "Self, you're wasting you're time with all this sanding, Adelina (7mos) & Jaden (5yrs) are just going to scratch it right back up" and that's when it hit me... CHALK BOARD PAINT! If they are anything like their Mommy, they will try to DESTROY this chifferobe, and when they do, it'll be alright (as long as they do it with chalk).
