Dawn's Door & The American Dream

Finding the perfect color for your front door is an easy & inexpensive way to add some color and curb appeal to your home.
Growing up, I always wanted a red front door. Something about them made me think of success and the American dream. So, of course, I painted our door red... our American dream was complete!

Then, I spotted this front door by Beyond The Screen Door on Pinterest

Crap.
THAT, my friends, is the American dream.

Then, a few months ago, a great friend and client, Dawn of Dawn Murph Photography contacted me about a project and attached a picture of the exact same turquoise door! She decided to jump on the train before someone on her block beat her to it. I couldn't say no.

She chose a lighter shade of turquoise to accent her brick home.

3 days later...

Can't forget the inside!

It was a lot of work but totally worth it and I had lots of fun getting to know Dawn and her husband, Jason. Plus, their doggies are adorable!

Here are some before and afters:

After finishing Dawn's door, I decided I would leave mine red- simply because I don't have the time to do it. However, I did slap a quick coat of teal on the interior side of our front door. I'm still making over our entry so pictures will have to wait =)
