Blue Montana Sky- My 1st CeCe Caldwell Piece

I finally jumped on the chalk/clay paint band wagon.
Up until this week, I've never painted with anything other than Behr, and I have to say, I'm on the fence.

I love Behr Ultra... it's never once let me down.
However, that whole no prep work aspect of CeCe is NIIIIIICCCEE...

I didn't see much difference in the consistency of latex and clay paint- so that's good. The coverage was good with this color but distressing with a wet rag is something I'll have to get used to.
I actually think I like the look of distressing with sand paper better but maybe I just need some practice. I don't guess anything's keeping me from distressing CeCe with sand paper, right?

I gave this piece an espresso top then glazed with copper metallic...

I though the hardware was the perfect addition to this piece.

Here's the before:

  1. Your dresser is gorgeous! Love it, especially with the combination of how you did the top. You can certainly use sanding sponges, sand paper... to distress CeCe's paint and you'll get different looks depending on what you use to do your wet distressing. I like to use fabric with a little texture like an old waffle-weave men's golf shirt, or in my case, my husband's old Fed-Ex shirts...

  2. the color is insanely cute.

    stop by soon, lovely blogger.

  3. Absolutely beautiful! Love how you kept the top dark. Very classy.
